On this week’s podcast Carol and Erik discuss the 7 basic Chakras and how they work as energy wheels throughout the body.

Chakras are energy centers on or near your body that process your energy and make it flow properly. There are a total of 114 chakras throughout your whole energetic system. Most people only know of the basic seven. These are the chakras that run up the spine.

There is a relatively new system of twelve chakras. This system was discovered by modern healers and energy workers. It’s interesting to note that though the system was recently discovered, Shamanic traditions have been using these energy centers for a millennia. This chakra system helps us connect more fully with the Universe.

Earth Star Chakra

The Earth Star Chakra is located below the feet. It connects us to the Earth and Mother Gaia. It also connects us with our Divine Feminine.

Balanced: Connected with both Yin and Yang energy, in harmony with the Earth

Unbalanced: Not caring about the Earth, not having a connection with the Divine Feminine

Root Chakra

The Root Chakra is at the base of the spine. This is where primal instincts are held, such as survival.

Balanced: Powerful, physically secure, grounded

Unbalanced: Ungrounded, lack of confidence, aggression, depression

Sacral Chakra

The Sacral Chakra is a few inches below the navel. This chakra holds sexual energy, creativity, and passion.

Balanced: Emotional clarity, satisfaction, faithfulness, sensuality, healthily sexual

Unbalanced: Jealousy, addictions, over-indulgence, loneliness, either too sexually active or completely repulsed by anything to do with sex

Solar Plexus Chakra

The Solar Plexus Chakra is a few inches above the navel. This chakra holds personal power.

Balanced: Positive self-image, self-acceptance, inner-strength, in tune with “gut” feeling (intuition)

Unbalanced: Dependency, arrogance, anxiety, lack of confidence, judgmental

Heart Chakra

The Heart Chakra is located at the center of the chest. This chakra is the center of love. It aids in relationships, empathy, and emotional healing.

Balanced: Loving, generous, selfless, empathetic, healing, nurturing

Unbalanced: Indecisive, paranoid, demanding, critical, moody, co-dependence

Throat Chakra

The Throat Chakra is located at the throat. It’s the center of communication. This chakra deals with expression, honesty, and listening skills.

Balanced: Good communication, artistic, truthful, good at listening, positive self-expression

Unbalanced: Poor communication, too talkative, dishonest,manipulative, unable to express thoughts

Third Eye Chakra

The Third Eye Chakra is located in the middle of the forehead, between the eyes. This chakra is the center of psychic energy. This center helps connect physical and non-physical energies.

Balanced: Intuitive, creative, clarity of thoughts and emotions, not materialistic, connected with higher self, psychic powers (such as the Clairs)

Unbalanced: Undisciplined, cloudy thoughts, disconnected from higher self

Crown Chakra

The Crown Chakra is located at the crown of the head. It’s the beginning gateway to the spiritual. This chakra helps with hopes, dreams, and attaining Enlightenment.

Balanced: Awakening, living Life Purpose, connecting to the All

Unbalanced: Confused, ungrounded, frustrated, not connected with the Universe, feel distant, no boundaries

Soul Star Chakra

The Soul Star Chakra is located right above the head. This chakra is the center that aids in connecting to the upper chakras and the higher consciousness.

Balanced: Connect to Akashic Records, Divine Light is able to flow freely through the you, gain Universal knowledge and wisdom

Unbalanced: Restless, feel purposeless, anxiety about Life Purpose

Universal Chakra

The Universal Chakra is located just above the Soul Star Chakra. This chakra connects with Universal energy.

Balanced: Massive healing abilities, aligned with Universe, not as influenced by outer energies

Unbalanced: Unlinked with Universe, higher realms of Spirit are inaccessible

Galactic Chakra

The Galactic Chakra is located above the Universal Chakra. This chakra is the energy center that allows communication with higher beings.

Balanced: Advanced spiritual skills, instant manifestation, communication with higher beings

Unbalanced: Slow manifestation, unable to properly connect with higher beings, won’t have access to full spiritual abilities

Divine Gateway Chakra

The Divine Gateway Chakra is slightly above the Galactic Chakra. This chakra is the center of complete ascension.

Balanced: Completely connected to the All, full ascension

Unbalanced: Not fully awakened and ascended, feel distant from the Universe
